How to build an electric fence

July 25,2024 tongher Industry 136

The electric fence is a helpful tool for people who own farm livestock or horses, or who need added security. Although you are familiar with electric fences, you may not know everything about them and find yourself lost with all the different terms. The following is a quick guide to help you to know more about the installation .

INDOOR INSTALLATION

1.An appropriate place for fixing the energizer

2.Out of touch of children and animals

3.Link the black grouding icon with clip to grounding

4.Link the red pulse output icon with clip to wire

5.connect with transformer and choose the mode

Notice: the power adapter could replace the battery to provide power to energizer. If the customer do nothave special requirement.

OUTDOOR INSTALLATION

1.In most cases, the energizer should be fixed on the wooden bar.

2.Link the black grouding icon with clip to grouding.

3.Link the red pulse output icon with clip to wire.

4.Connect with transformer and shoose the mode

Notice: the energizer could be powered by lead-acid,12V DC solar panel.

There are some important points you want to know:

Measure the amount of space you want to fence in. You can do this by walking the amount and counting your steps, or you can use a GPS device to track the length.

Choose the appropriate energizer. The energizer creates an electric pulse that travels through the fence. When an animal touches the fence, it completes the circuit and allows that electric pulse to travel through its body, then into the ground.

Plan the location of the earth terminal. For the electric fence to work correctly, it needs to have optimal conditions for its operation.

Grounding  Connection. Stick two steel bars into grounding. Make sure the length between two bars is more than 300mm, then connect the red pulse icon with the other, put on the power and shoose themode. If the right number is less than 4kv. The grounding connection is good.

Test the ground system. Turn off the charger/energizer. Short-circuit the fence by leaning enough metallic rods against it about 330 ft away. Turn the energizer on. Use a fence tester/voltmeter to read the voltage on the fence. It should be below 2 kV.(Lean additional metallic rods against the fence if needed). Insert the fence tester probe into the soil and the other end agains the last ground rod. The voltage should be less than 0.3 KV. If it is higher than 0.3KV, a better grounding system may be needed.
